In 2026, Amoskeag Clinical Education Service was approached to explore the development and delivery of foundational educational curriculum for community-based EMS providers working in the evolving field of Mobile Integrated Health (MIH).

Recognizing that today’s Community EMS provider is increasingly serving as more than an emergency responder, Amoskeag Clinical Education Service is focused on supporting the transition toward a comprehensive Mobile Integrated Health Provider model. This approach expands the traditional role of EMS professionals by bringing healthcare, prevention, assessment, education, and community-based services directly to patients where they live and work.

The educational initiative is designed to establish a strong clinical and operational foundation for EMS providers entering or expanding their role within MIH programs. Curriculum development focuses on integrating traditional EMS provider competencies with concepts such as community health, patient-centered care, care coordination, chronic disease management, preventive services, social determinants of health, and collaboration with healthcare and community partners.

Through this work, Amoskeag Clinical Education Service seeks to help EMS organizations develop highly skilled, adaptable providers who can safely and effectively operate beyond the traditional emergency response model—bringing the right care to the right patient, at the right time, in the right setting.

This initiative reflects Amoskeag Clinical Education Service’s commitment to advancing EMS education and supporting the continued evolution of the profession from emergency response toward integrated, community-based, and patient-centered healthcare delivery.
